Mask Ek Muskaan Anek (One Mask, Many Smiles) – A CSR initiative of Merino Group to combat the Corona pandemic and unemployment.

During the pandemic, to turn the shortage of masks into opportunity and help the families of our school children to gain economic independence, we identified and trained families interested in mask making. Initial training and standardized processes helped us to increase the production of masks from 100 to 1200 a day within the first two months, to meet the growing demand. Out of Rs.10.00 charged against a pair of Masks, Rs.7.00 went directly to the women and Rs.3.00 against material and other costs. The project was aptly named, “Mask Ek Muskan Anek” (Mask One Smile Many) as the initiative brought smiles in the faces 27 families by helping their women to earn on an average Rs.27700/- during the lockdown. A total of 1,30,000 masks were produced during the period which gave our students’ families financial stability and boosted their self-confidence.
