CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY - HEALTHCARE

At Merino we believe that the development and progress of any nation grossly depends upon the health and wellbeing of its citizens. We are committed to working towards creating a healthy society by offering free healthcare services for prevention of diseases among the poor and needy.

Our health care program is being implemented through Shri Prem Chand Lohia Health Centre (SPCLHC) and it is currently operational in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. Considering the prevalence of TB cases in this area, we have joined hands with the Department of Tuberculosis (DOT), Government of India, to eliminate TB by 2025. Currently SPCLHC operates 3 dispensaries and provides free OPD services to economically poor and disadvantaged section of the population. These dispensaries are managed by 1 MBBS doctor, 1 BAMS doctor, 1 pharmacist, 1 lab assistant and 3 medical support staff. Since the time the TB program was launched in 2004 a total of 6250 TB patients have been cured through our direct intervention.

Currently under our Health Care program, 48 villages are being covered for creating awareness about TB, providing treatment for confirmed TB cases and for providing dietary support to needy TB patients. Nutritional diet is an important component for curing TB. During the period 2022-2023, 48 needy patients were identified and provided in kind nutritional diet. Apart from that a total of 6674 patients took the benefit of our OPD services.

At Merino, we always try to learn from the past and try to see what we can do to keep our future safe. During the 2nd wave of Covid, we saw many fatalities and most of them were due to lack of availability of Oxygen. Hence, seeing the growing need and the scarcity of Oxygen supply, Merino extended its helping hand to the local Government. It has set up a PSA Medical Oxygen Plant at the Government Hospital, Pilkhuwa, that would cater to 100 patients per day. The plant was commissioned on July 28, 2021, by Gen. V K Singh, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Civil Aviation, Government of India. The plant has a capacity of producing 30 Nm3 / hour, with an Oxygen purity of 93% - 95%.
